III. Students’ achievements and participation

  1. In line with other committees including the Assembly, Extra-curricular, Moral and Civic Education, Guidance and Careers Committees, as well as other subjects including Physical Education, Music, Visual Arts, Moral and Civic Education and visits organized by other subjects, OLEC coordinates diversified OLE and arranges students’ learning time. Additionally, OLEC is responsible for formulating plans and timetables for OLE of the school by communicating with different units to reach consensus.
  2. OLEC will conduct talks in the beginning of a school year to inform senior secondary students of the content and requirements of OLE in the new senior secondary curriculum.
  3. OLEC is in close contact with different units to organize OLE, building up the structure of ‘Learning Profile’ (LP), supervising students and inform them of the criteria of reflections and awards schemes.
  4. OLEC will assist students to build up their ‘Student Learning Profiles’ (SLP) which include the computer files of Performance/ awards and key participation outside school. Talks and guidelines will be provided for students so that they can make use of iPortfolio in eClass to enter their own data properly on time.
  5. OLE Ambassadors will be recruited and trained to assist teachers and students to enter data. There will be one period of data entry in each term (December and May), the data entry system will be introduced to form four students and they will enter their data with the help of OLE Ambassadors in the form-teacher lessons.
  6. OLEC will assist students to build up their ‘Learning Profiles’ (LP) by making use of iPorfolio in eClass, which is a platform for students’ records, reflections and teachers’ feedbacks, fostering students’ development.
  7. At the end of each senior-form school year, OLEC will print out students’ records of ‘Performance/ awards and key participation outside school’ in their ‘Student Learning Porfolios’ (SLP) so that they can verify their records and write reflections on their performance at the end of a school year. Taking this opportunity, OLEC will encourage students to participate in activities of OLE in the coming school year so as to broad their horizons.
