Sept 1983
Held the 1st Opening Ceremony for a new school year.

Dec 1984
Dedication Service for the new school and Tree Planting Ceremony which were officiated by Mrs. Betsy Lee, the School Supervisor, Rev. Huang Zuo, the School Manager, and Rev. Leung Lam Hoi.

Sept 1986
Rev. Li Ping Kwong was appointed as the School Supervisor.

Dec 1988
The 5th Anniversary Thanksgiving Service with sermon was delivered by Rev. Li Ping Kwong. It was followed by gymnastics performance, tea reception and the opening ceremony of the Language Laboratory officiated by Rev. Huang Zuo. Dinner gathering was held at night when those who had served for five years received souvenirs.

Held the 5th Anniversary Open Day, with numerous parents, alumni and other guests attending.

Principal Chow Tsz Sum resigned for further study in Theology in the United States.

May 1990
School Education Division of the Methodist Church Conference accepted the application of Mr. Lau Hor Keung and appointed him as the Principal starting from 1st September 1990.

July 1992
At the 24th Meeting, the School Management Committee decided to join the 92/93 Pilot Scheme for School Management Initiative.

Long Distance Run in our school was selected as one of the six promotion projects by Hong Kong Sports Development Board for other schools.

Mar 1995

  • A supplementary regulation on the election of teacher representatives  in the School Management Committee was passed in a poll by all teachers. According to the regulation, teachers could be elected as school managers.
  • Yang Memorial Methodist Social Service Shatin Family Education and Support Centre was established and has become a partner of the school in providing community service.

Our student, Lee Ka Chun, won the champion of the information technology group in the Hong Kong Youth Skills Competition and represented Hong Kong to participate in the Switzerland Youth Skills Competition. The regional flag of the HKSAR was first raised in Switzerland when he won the third place in this global competition.

Nov 1997

Launched a fund raising campaign for the installation of air conditioning in all classrooms. The final amount raised was beyond the target of one million and one hundred thousand dollars, witnessing the sufficient supply of our Heavenly Father.

“Quality Education, Contributing to Society” was the theme of a series of celebration events of the school’s 15th Anniversary. Rev. Chow Tsz Sum, the founding principal, was invited to

be the sermon speaker for the topic ”Life Education” at the Thanksgiving Service. Other events included dinner gathering and anniversary publication.

  • Anniversary Thanksgiving Service and Dedication Service of Mrs. Betsy Lee Memorial Room (Staff Common Room) were officiated by Mr. Lee Kwok Keung, the husband of Mrs. Betsy Lee, Dr. Wong Chung Kwong and Rev. Li Ping Kwong. (Mrs. Lee was the founding School Supervisor who offered valuable contribution to the development of the school.)
  • Mr. Weng Yuping, the Honorary Lecturer of Shanghai Tongji University, lectured on the development of Chinese agriculture at the senior form assembly.

  • Achievements of the Chinese Herbs and Medicine Education Centre were displayed in the 3rd exhibition of the Quality Education Fund.

  • Held the opening ceremony of the Chinese herbal garden on 29 March. On its open day (31 March), the Chinese herbal garden was visited by secondary and primary schools of Shatin and other districts as well as other guests.

Ten F.6 students were selected by the Education Department to participate in project learning at the Great Wall in Beijing and were awarded a merit among other representatives from more than 20 schools.

Our student, Chan Yuk Hei, represented Hong Kong to compete in the Southeast Asia Computer Associations Competition and won the champion.

A P.6 gifted class of a primary school from Tai Pei, Taiwan visited the school and shared experience with teachers, parents and students. Students of both schools presented their projects.

Participated in the Mythical World Exhibition organized by the Hong Kong Youth Arts Festival. A sphinx sculpture made by students was displayed in the exhibition at Cityplaza. A review exhibition was held with students sharing on the production process. Parents and students of Shatin Government Primary School (P.M.) and Christian Alliance H.C. Chan Primary School (P.M.) were invited to attend.

Prof. Cong Chunyu, the former director of Gansu College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, lectured on Dunhuang medicine at the School. Mar 2004 A Bei j ing-Hong Kong exchange activity organized by the Education and Manpower Bureau (EMB) and the State Education Commission was held in Hong Kong. Our school was invited as one of the four host schools.

Creative Thinking Team won the champion of the Hong Kong Creative Thinking Competition and represented Hong Kong to participate in the world competition held in Iowa, the USA.
