Introduction of Parent-Teacher Association
Sha Tin Methodist College Parent-Teacher Association was established in 1993. We have organized various interest groups and talks for parents. With a view to meeting the needs of parents in the ever-changing society, we have strengthened parenting education and our cooperation with the school in recent years. We have organized trips for students and parents, talks on parenting and health talks. We have also issued news to parents. Moreover, a range of scholarships has been established, for example the Most Progressed Student Awards in different subjects, the Scholarships of the Extensive Reading Scheme and Information Technology. Parents’ Resources Room was set up to offer parents a place to organize various functions, which does not only make our work function, but also enhances the relationship among parents.
Objectives of the Parent and Teacher Association
- Foster the relationship between parents and teachers
- Strengthen the cooperation between parents and the school, upgrading the efficiency of education
- Offer parents opportunities to be concerned for and help with the development of the school and discuss the welfare of students
- Elect representatives of parents to participate in school management in accordance with the needs of the school and the requirements of the Education Bureau
家長教師會簡介
沙田循道衛理中學家長教師會成立於1993年，為切合家長的需要，除舉辦家長興趣班和專題講座外，近年來，因應社會發展的需要，本會轉而強化親子教育，並加強與校方合作，參與提昇學校教育質素。前者除了不斷增設各類型活動，包括親子旅行、管教子女講座、健康講座、出版家長通訊等，後者則成立各項獎學金，包括分科進步獎、廣泛閱讀獎學金、ＩＴ獎學金等。本會開設了家長資源室，讓家長們舉辦多項小組活動，除了配合上述各方面的工作外，也藉此增進家長之間的關係。
家長教師會宗旨
- 促進家長與老師之間的聯繫；
- 加強家長與學校的合作，提高教育效能；
- 讓家長有機會關注並協助學校的發展，共謀改善學生福利事宜；
- 按本校的需要及教育署有關規定，推選家長代表參與學校管理工作。
