20181003 Spelling Bee Competition

A spelling bee is a competition in which contestants are asked to spell a broad selection of unfamiliar words. The idea is believed to have originated in the United States. The 1st National Spelling Bee, now known as the Scripps National Spelling Bee, was organized in Washington, D.C. in 1925. Our first spelling bee took place in 2012, in the hope of arousing students’ interests in learning English words. Since then, we have discovered that our students are fast learners and are capable of tackling difficult words on their own. This year, our annual Spelling Bee ended with a delight surprise again. Here were the results: The champion is 1A. The 1st runner-up is 1D. The 2nd runner-up is 1C. 1A Ranita Leung Pui-ying, 1B Alta Ko Cheuk-nam, 1C Ella Chan wei-kwan and 1D Adrian Wong Pak-hei won the Best Speller Awards in the competition.
