STMC has a long-standing tradition of school greening. Since the establishment of the Chinese medicinal herb garden twenty years ago, we have continued to create opportunities for students to learn about our precious natural world.
This year, with the subsidy from the LCSD, our school had decided to renew the plantation path situated at the corner of the school playground. New shrubs and greenery with variegated leaves were planted to lend colour to the school campus. Pebbles and gravels were added to the flowerbeds to eliminate potential breeding grounds for mosquitoes. This can allow our students to enjoy this renewed plantation path without being disturbed by those tiny creatures.
Our efforts were recognized by experts from the LCSD. After the visits of the judging panel, our school was awarded the champion title of Greening School Project Award (Large Garden Plot Project – Secondary School Section).
On 21st May 2021, our school principal, Ms Cheung, and three student representatives attended the prize presentation ceremony and formally received the prize for our school.
