Message from the Principal for the 33rd School Anniversary
They are like trees planted by streams of water,
which yield their fruit in its season,
and their leaves do not wither.
In all that they do, they prosper.
This is a beautiful verse taken from Psalm. The beauty lies not only in the words and the images they create, but also in the sweetness and prosperity of life for the righteous who seek the Lord. As a Christian school, we are vested with the responsibility of teaching our young ones to seek The Lord, to love Him and live by His law. Our students are like seedlings and, as teachers, we are the ones to nurture them. With the wonderful blessings of God, they grow, blossom and bear fruit.
We believe education should achieve much more than the economic value of turning out smart-at-work people who grow to become gearwheels of the society. STMC places heavy emphasis on following Christ’s example as a servant leader. Through Christian education, our students learn to love and with love, they serve. When students learn to serve with modesty and compassion, they prepare themselves to be servant leaders of the future, who then, instead of only reaping their personal harvests, will genuinely, benefit our society as a whole.
We believe education should help students develop their God-given talents and potentials to the full. We teach our students to ‘Learn Wisely; Live Amply’, which can be achieved in many ways, including classroom learning, out-of-classroom experiences, extra-curricular activities, community services, etc. Through an all-rounded Christian education, students develop intellectual competence, a variety of talents, a curious mind, compassion, self-learning abilities, and most important of all, the appreciation and respect for life which God has granted everyone. When they can do so, they can contribute to society, help their neighbours and serve the Lord.
In celebration of the 33rd School Anniversary, let us remember the abundance of God’s blessings that have brought STMC to this far. We truly believe that if we continue to follow His way, we will be “like trees planted by streams of water”!
