The Hong Kong Inter-school Dodgeball Championship 2022 was successfully held from 26th to 28th December. Sha Tin Methodist College was honoured to be the venue provider for the Hong Kong Dodgeball Association to host this event.

In total, 67 teams in 7 categories participated in this competition. We are proud to announce that our Dodgeball Team accomplished quite a number of awards despite the keen competition. Our Team won the Cup Champion in both Mixed Junior and Women’s categories while the Mixed Senior and Men’s Junior Team won the Cup bronze medal. For the individual awards, Fong Lok Hang of F.3A from the Junior Mixed Team and Lai Hiu Ching of F.4A from the Women’s Team won the Most Valuable Player Awards. Congratulations to all the athletes!

20 of our F2 students joined the Enhanced Smart Teen Project 2022/23 held by Education Bureau and Fire Services Department. Between 15/12/2022 and 16/12/2023, these students participated in the Smart Teen Challenge Camps, where training on discipline and team building was provided to enhance their self-discipline, self-confidence, team spirit and resilience. After the camps, a series of post-camp activities will be organized in order to strengthen the learning experiences they acquired in the camps.

今年福音週的主題是Goodness and Mercy，在13/12-21/12期間舉辦了不少活動，以宣揚上帝的愛及對別人的關心。周會邀請了三指鋼琴家黃愛恩博士及不能走路的Tiffany向同學分享他們生命故事。「點唱環節」讓學生祝福及鼓勵身邊的同學，Watoto佈道會及便服日籌款，讓學生明白非洲兒童的景況及機構對非洲兒童的幫助，義賣的款項將會全數捐給Watoto，讓學生實踐愛的傳遞！

The theme of the Gospel Week is Goodness and Mercy. From 13 to 21 December, numerous activities were held to convey God's love and concern for us.

In the weekly assemblies, the three-fingered pianist Dr. Connie Wong and Ms Tiffany, who is lame, shared their life stories with our students.

Besides, the song dedication session provided a platform for students to bless and encourage each other.

The week ended with the Watoto evangelistic meeting and Casual Dress Day. Students could gain more understanding of the situation of African children and the organization's help to these children. A charity sale was also held. All the proceeds from the sale will be donated to Watoto so that our students can learn to transmit love!

Our Gospel Soccer Team (Senior Forms) joined the Sha Tin District Anti-drug Football Competition organized by Sha Tin District Fight Crime Committee and Chinese YMCA of Hong Kong on Dec 11 and 18, 2022 and won the 1st runner-up. Congratulations to the team! 

Our Football Team is different from a regular sports team as it not only includes physical training, but it also focuses on the team’s spiritual growth so that the teammates can understand the Gospel and themselves better, which is crucial for them in search of their own identity and the life meaning.

P6 Guidance Day is not only a day to allow primary school parents and students to learn more about our school, but it is also a great opportunity for our students, teaching and non-teaching staff to cooperate to host the guests with passion. We have prepared a talk, information booths, good works displays and various performances including musical, sports and dancing performances to showcase the best of our school proudly.

We are delighted that F3 parents show support and concern to their children who need to choose subjects for their senior form studies. A talk has been prepared for parents so that they can gain more understanding of the syllabus and accompany their children to choose suitable subjects.
