To deepen students’ understanding of our nation’s development and cultivate their sense of belonging, our school recently attended the launching ceremony of the "China in Splendour: The Ethos and Spirit of the Pillars of Our Time" Thematic Exhibition. Organised by the Education Bureau and co-organised by the Patriotic Education Centre, the ceremony was officiated by the Acting Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr Cheuk Wing-hing, and the Secretary for Education, Dr Choi Yuk-lin. We are highly honoured that our students were the very first group in Hong Kong to visit this meaningful exhibition.
The exhibition provided students with a comprehensive overview of the life stories of our country's modern heroes and their significant contributions across various fields, including culture, technology, defence, medicine, and sports. By learning about the hard work, unwavering perseverance, and selfless devotion of these exemplary figures, students were able to connect their classroom knowledge with real-life demonstrations of the patriotic spirit.
This learning experience served to effectively foster students’ national identity, broaden their knowledge of our country's heroes, and strengthen their affection for and sense of belonging to our country, aligning closely with the objectives of Patriotic Education and Values education. Through engaging with these vivid, real-life teaching materials, students are encouraged to reflect on the spirit of these pillars of our time and thoughtfully consider how they may contribute to the future development of our country.
